Makkah is the holiest city of Muslim world and Muslims from all over the world go there to offer Haj, one of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims come to visit Khana Kaba, the holiest place situated in Makkah and it is the center point of earth. The government of Saudi Arabia spends a substantial amount on the maintenance every year.

People who visit Makkah knows better that now it is one of the finest cities where you find every facility of life. It was just a desert centuries ago but now Muslim countries including Saudi Arabia is spending substantial amount every year to facilitate the people who come to offer Haj.

Rare and Amazing Visuals of Makkah in 1930

If you have a plan to visit Makkah then you will see big buildings with modern touch of life surrounding Khana Kaba instead of old times houses. In 1930, Makkah was surrounded by simple houses in the middle of desert and people used to come there on camels to offer Haj. The visuals of Makkah in that year will give the right idea that how much this Holy city has developed since then and how the methods of travelling has been changed.

The life of Makkah city during first four decades of 20th century was very hard for the people who didn’t have travelling facilities but just a camel and neither the facility of hotels at all.

During Haj season people used to spend days and nights in camps and travel on feet all the way to Madina, the other Holy city of Saudi Arabia, to complete Haj. There too they built camps to spend the days and nights.

In that tenure travelling was very difficult as people faced the bitterness of desert, heat and thirst to offer Haj. But now travelling is quite easy and you will find more facilities in the city as compare to 1930. You hardly see any camel for travelling because it is replaced by vehicles, cars and buses. So feel free to visit Makkah to offer Haj without any hurdle or problems of journey.
