ISLAMABAD: On Friday, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in a petition, seeking a ban on ARY TV, forwarded the petition to PEMRA with directions that the petition may be handled as a complaint and proceeding opposed to the TV channel be launched in accordance with jurisprudence.
The petitioner, in his request, stated that some anchors particularly Mubashir Lucman are conducting such programs that are spiteful to the integrity, honor, respect and independence of the superior judiciary. He stated the plan was aimed at smearing the former CJ and creating an impression that he was the most dishonourable and corrupt judge.
He solicited to the court to direct the authorities to cancel licenses of ARY TV channel and ban its transmission. Additionally, criminal case may be registered opposed to Mubashir Luqman, he stated.
