اللهُ أكْبَر، اللهُ أكْبَر، اللهُ أكْبَر، سُـبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّـرَ لَنَا هٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْـرِنِيْنَ، وَإِنَّا إِلٰى رَبِّنَـا لَمُنْقَـلِبُوْنَ، اَللّهُـمَّ إِنَّا نَسْـأَلُكَ فِي سَفَـرِنَا هٰذَا الْبِـرَّ وَالتَّـقْوٰى، وَمِنَ الْعَمَـلِ مَا تَـرْضٰى، اَللّهُـمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَـيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هٰذَا وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْـدَهٗ، اَللّهُـمَّ أَنْـتَ الصَّـاحِبُ فِي السَّـفَرِ، وَالْخَلِـيْفَةُ فِي الْاَهْـلِ، اَللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي اَعـُوْذُبِكَ مِنْ وَّعْـثَآءِ السَّـفَرِ، وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْـظَرِ، وَسُوْءِ الْمُنْـقَلَبِ فِي الْمَـالِ وَالْاَهْـلِ

Allaahu 'Akbar, Allaahu 'Akbar, Allaahu 'Akbar, Subhaanal-lathee sakhkhara lanaa haathaa wa maa kunnaa lahu muqrineen. Wa 'innaa 'ilaa Rabbinaa lamunqaliboon. Allaahumma 'innaa nas'aluka fee safarinaa haathal-birra wattaqwaa, wa minal-`amali maa tardhaa, Allaahumma hawwin `alaynaa safaranaa haathaa watwi `annaa bu`dahu, Allaahumma 'Antas-saahibu fis-safari, walkhaleefatu fil-'ahli, Allaahumma 'innee 'a`oothu bika min wa`thaa'is-safari, wa ka'aabatil-mandhari, wa soo'il-munqalabi fil-maali wal'ahli.

Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. Glory is to Him Who has provided this for us though we could never have had it by our efforts. Surely, unto our Lord we are returning. O Allah, we ask You on this our journey for goodness and piety, and for works that are pleasing to You. O Allah, lighten this journey for us and make its distance easy for us. O Allah, You are our Companion on the road and the One in Whose care we leave our family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from this journey's hardships, and from the wicked sights in store and from finding our family and property in misfortune upon returning.

اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے۔ پاک ہے وہ ذات جس نے اسے (سواری کو) ہمارے تابع کر دیا ورنہ ہم اسے قابو میں کر لینے والے نہیں تھے۔ اور یقیناً ہم اپنے رب ہی کی طرف واپس جانے والے ہیں۔ اے اللہ! ہم تجھ سے، اپنے اس سفر میں نیکی، تقویٰ اور ایسے عمل کا سوال کرتے ہیں جسے تو پسند فرمائے، اے اللہ! ہم پر ہمارا سفر آسان کر دے اور اس کی لمبی مسافت ہم سے لپیٹ دے۔ اے اللہ! اس سفر میں تو ہی (ہمارا) ساتھی ہے اور (تو ہی ہمارا) جانشین ہے گھر والوں میں۔ اے اللہ! میں سفر کی مشقت، (اس کے) تکلیف دہ منظر اور مال اور گھر والوں میں بُری تبدیلی سے تیری پناہ میں آتا ہوں۔

• Upon returning the same supplication is recited with the following addition:
اٰئِبُوْنَ، تَآئِبُوْنَ، عَابِدُوْنَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُوْنَ
'Aa'iboona, taa'iboona, `aabidoona, lirabbinaa haamidoon.

We return repentant to our Lord, worshipping our Lord, and praising our Lord.

نبی اکرم ﷺ سفر سے وآپسی پر یہ ہی الفاظ کہتے اور ان میں یہ اضافہ کرتے
